News from Colors of Sepsis

The opening ceremony of the 28th Colors of Sepsis will take place on Tuesday 27/1/2026 in the Sapphire Hall under guidance prof. MD Pavel Ševčík, CSc. A rare guest of the opening ceremony will be Mrs Magdalena Vášáryová, we cordially invite you to her lecture on the topic "Political and Social Atmosphere in the Visegrad Four and Central Europe".

Magdaléna Vášáryová is a Slovak sociologist, theater and film actress, writer, diplomat and politician. So far she has acted in more than 50 films. Among others, we associate her with the unforgettable role of the beautiful and active wife of the administrator of the Nymburk brewery, Maryška, in Jiří Menzel's film Postřižina.

In the years 1990-1993 she was the ambassador of the Czechoslovak Republic in Austria and in the years 2002-2005 the ambassador of the Slovak Republic in Poland. In 1993, she founded and became the first chairwoman of the Slovak Society for Foreign Policy in Bratislava. In 2005-2006, she was State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic. In the years 2006-2016, she was a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic.

Magdaléna Vášáryová is active in non-governmental organizations in Slovakia. In 2012, she founded and became the president of the non-governmental organization Via Cultura - the Institute for Cultural Policy, which systematically deals with the cultural sector in Slovakia, its modernization and raising it to the European level.

She is the author of several books and professional articles in the domestic and foreign press. The articles deal with foreign and domestic policy, the political situation in Central Europe and the V4 countries, cultural policy, culture, the position of women in society and energy security.
