History of Colors of Sepsis - 8th year

Dear colleagues

You are already receiving lectures from the 8th year of the postgraduate course focused on the issue of sepsis and multi-organ failure. Over the past few years, the organizers of the course have succeeded in transforming an event of originally regional importance into a professional meeting, which, thanks to its quality and number of participants, has built up respect among the medical public from the whole country. The quality of the program is more than eloquently proven by the ongoing increase in the number of participants, which exceeds a number of other, often more promoted events. During a number of my personal meetings with the organizers, the discussion often turned to the topic of holding a professional meeting in the Czech Republic, which would be similar to events such as the International Symposium on Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine held annually in Brussels (after all, even that symposium gradually emerged from a regional hospital seminar ). I wish the organizers in Ostrava that they succeed and that you all find everything you liked from the professional program on the CD.

As usual, it is winter in Ostrava at this time

As usual, it is winter in Ostrava at this time. 8th postgraduate course on sepsis and MODS. Also in Ostrava and excellent level. As has been the case for years in Ostrava around this time. The organizers manage to get support for the participation of other friendly medical departments as well. Even those who are more clear about the issue than intensivists and anesthesiologists ask questions. The entire course is preceded by an introductory discussion on evidence-based medicine. It will certainly influence future meetings. The current context of the presentation of our experiences was also supported by foreign guests. The organizers are aware that maintaining the current quality and scope has its internal limits. Possible creation of sections that would suggest future clinical study projects in terms of current recommendations or just watching how the recommendations are applied in our clinical practice. For now I wish you a lot of success and I hope to see you again next year.

Dear friends, colleagues

On behalf of the organizers of the course, I am happy to state that we are managing to maintain the trend of positive changes that has accompanied our meetings in Ostrava for several years now. Undoubtedly, the most pleasant was the change of location of the course to the premises of the Atom Hotel. Thus, a dignified, even family-like environment was created for professional meetings, backstage discussions and a social program. You must have registered that the course was included among the accredited shares of CLK, and we are intensively working on assigning an ISBN for the electronic collection, which is published annually. This year too, we saw an increase in the number of participants, speakers and lectures, as well as the number of companies that provided us with their support. For the first time, the program was organized into several sections, which gave the whole event a touch of dynamism and broke the developing stereotype. In terms of content, the Poster Section, Pro-Con discussions have increased in number, the popular Teaching Lessons and also company symposia have expanded in number. Feedback from foreign guests was also favorable, important contacts were established and plans for mutual cooperation and support were discussed. In one word or sentence: "The Sepsis and MODS postgraduate course lives a lively life". And that is the merit of all of us - lecturers, listeners, companies and organizers". It is therefore appropriate to thank everyone and at the end - as written in his editorial by Prime Minister J. Koutun, CSc. - wish: "I hope, on behalf of the organizers, I cordially invite you all to the 9th year of our meeting!
